RTA is a small, design-oriented firm based in Boise, Idaho, established by Rob Thornton, AIA, on May 1, 2005. Rob Thornton has been practicing architecture in the Treasure Valley for most of his professional life, first as an employee with several local firms, then as a founding partner with Andy Erstad of Erstad Thornton Architects. RTA has been involved in projects in a variety of sizes and types, ranging from intimate home remodels to large commercial buildings. Regardless of size, we bring a thorough knowledge of and attention to the myriad issues surrounding every project, from climate to building codes, zoning issues to budgetary concerns. Further, RTA was LEED-certified for sustainable design by the United States Green Building Council before green building was fashionable, and can produce buildings that maintain a low ecological footprint, satisfying USGBC requirements for green architecture—an important asset in today’s building climate. We believe in a fresh approach to architecture. However, we are traditionalists in two ways: We consider absolute responsibility to client satisfaction to be our primary concern; and we believe form and function are inseparable elements of good architecture. We assign to each project its own unique and organic structure, which is responsive and appropriate to its site, program, and client needs. RTA is committed to quality and accountability. Our record of client satisfaction is excellent, because we are highly skilled in the areas of scheduling, cost control, and project management. The timeline—and bottom line—of our clients is of paramount importance to us. Contact us with your architectural needs and concepts. Let us translate your ideas into forms. |
